Fall 2018 Season Guide (Updating)

LAST UPDATED 7 Sept 2018

Summer is almost over. Sucks, right?! It’s back to school time, or at least back to half-school, if you’re in one of the east coast cities experiencing high heat and humidity. In a couple weeks Summer will be officially over but the heat will likely linger.

So, is there anything hot to look forward to in the world of Fall 2018 anime? We guess…provided you like one or more of three things: Sequels, Spinoffs, and Shows with Obnoxiously Long Titles (or SOLTs). We’ll be checking out representatives from all three columns and let the cream rise to the top.

As usual, Bold titles mean we’re watching that show; non-bold means TBD, and crossed-out means dropped/skipped. This list will be updated as needed. As always, hit us up in the comments if you think we’re missing something, because we probably are. Thanks! —R.S.

  1. The following season is shaping up nicely :)
Seishun Buta Yarou sounds silly, but has an actually interesting and touching storyline with great characters.
Yagate Kimi ni Naru is one of the most interesting Shoujo-ai romances I’ve read.
Index 3 is a must, too.
And then we’ll see what surprise shows pop out!

  2. Hello All. I’m glad sesameacrylic enjoyed Hanebado even though it took such a sharp turn from what it showed in its first episode (I was hoping for a larger focus on the badminton instead of the drama). One show this season that I am looking forward to that isn’t on any of your lists is “Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken”. This show has been highly anticipated by the LN/manga readers almost as much as Goblin Slayer. Episode 1 just came out today, and the art is already looking pretty good. One of the characters that showed up in Episode 1 is a dragon which I was thankful that it was had drawn instead of CGI. The show is slated to be 2 cours.
